Sensex up 83pts; Hero Honda slips 1.5%

The Sensex is now up 83 points at 12,464.

Maruti has rallied over 3% to Rs 972. Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have surged around 2.5% each at Rs 349 and Rs 532, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors and Ranbaxy have advanced around 2% each to Rs 2,990, Rs 860 and Rs 439, respectively.

Grasim, NTPC, ITC and HDFC are up around 1.5% each at Rs 2,517, Rs 130, Rs 1878 and Rs 1,523, respectively.

Hero Honda has slipped 1.5% to Rs 777.

Out of 2,513 stocks traded so far, 1,634 have advanced, 810 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
