Sensex up 83pts; Satyam soars 5%

The Sensex is now up 83 points at 13,700.

Satyam has surged 4.7% to Rs 475. Reliance Energy has Hero Honda have rallied 4% each to Rs 554 and Rs 735, respectively.

Wipro has soared 3.3% to Rs 588. Reliance Communications has added 2.8% to Rs 428.

Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel have moved up over 2% each to Rs 1,379 and Rs 638, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Cipla and ICICI Bank are the other major gainers.

ITC and HDFC are down 1% each at Rs 182 and Rs 1,628, respectively.

Out of 2,539 stocks traded so far, 1,434 have advanced, 1,031 have declined and 74 are unchanged.
