Sensex up 84pts; Hindalco weak

The Sensex is now up 84 points at 14,488.

HDFC has soared 3% to Rs 1,795. Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have surged over 2.5% each to Rs 504 and Rs 791, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has advanced 1.7% to Rs 2,824. Reliance Energy, SBI and Tata Steel are up over 1% each to Rs 541, Rs 1,196 and Rs 468, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 2.5% to Rs 179. Wipro and Cipla have slipped over 1% each to Rs 635 and Rs 247, respectively.

Out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,547 have advanced, 943 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
