Sensex up 84pts; ONGC, HDFC gain 2%

The Sensex is now up 84 points at 15,048.

Reliance Energy has surged 2.6% to Rs 614. BHEL and Larsen & Toubro have soared 2% each to Rs 1,589 and Rs 2,413, respectively.

ONGC and HDFC have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 895 and Rs 1,949, respectively.

Infosys has gained 1.5% at Rs 2,000. HDFC Bank and Hindalco have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 1,169 and Rs 156, respectively.

TCS and Cipla are up 1% each at Rs 1,172 and Rs 214, respectively.

ICICI Bank has and Hindustan Unilever have shed 1.5% each to Rs 967 and Rs 197, respectively.

Out of 2,384 stocks traded so far, 1,557 have advanced, 756 have declined and 71 are unchanged.
