Sensex up 87pts; Bharti Tele leads

The Sensex is now up 87 points at 10,652.

Bharti Tele has rallied 3.7% to Rs 392. Tata Steel has spurted over 3% to Rs 456.

Maruti has surged 2.8% to Rs 910, and ONGC has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,150.

Tata Power (Rs 535), ITC (Rs 177) and Wipro (Rs 538) have spurted over 2% each.

SBI, Hindalco, Ranbaxy, Hero Honda and Tata Motors are the other smart gainers.

BHEL has slipped 1.5% to Rs 2,078. Grasim and Satyam have shed 1% each to Rs 1,801 and Rs 794, respectively.

Infosys and Dr.Reddy's are the other notable losers.

The market breadth is slightly positive. Out of 2,210 stocks traded so far, 1,209 have advanced, 919 have declined and 82 are unchanged.

Educomp Solutions has zoomed over 12% to Rs 360. Goodricke, Godrej Industries, Usha Martin, Reliance Natural Resources, Salora International, Amar Remedies, Hinduja TMT, Jindal Stainless, Union Bank, Corporation Bank and JSW Steel are the other major gainers.

Teledata has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 18.45. Agro Dutch, Geometric Software, Wyeth, Apollo Tyre, Polaris, United Phosphorous, BPCL, Godrej Consumers and National Aluminium are in declining mode.
