Sensex up 88pts; ICICI Bank gains 3.5%

The Sensex is hovering near the day's high, and is now up 88 points at 10,068.

ICICI Bank has rallied 3.5% to Rs 628. HDFC Bank has advanced 2.5% to Rs 763.

Cipla has gained 2.4% at Rs 508. ITC is up 2.2% at Rs 160. Gujarat Ambuja has spurted 2% to Rs 88.

SBI at Rs 878, HLL at Rs 197 and Maruti at Rs 747 are up 1.5% each. HDFC, Infosys, Tata Motors, Hindalco, NTPC and Wipro have added 1% each.

ONGC is down 1.8% at Rs 1,169. Ranbaxy, TCS and Reliance Energy have slipped nearly 1% each to Rs 410, Rs 1,664 and Rs 596, respectively.

The market breadth continues to be negative. Out of 2,527 stocks traded so far, 1,467 have slipped, 969 have moved up and 91 are unmoved.
