Sensex up 88pts; ITC sheds 3%

The Sensex is now up 88 points at 14,991.

NTPC and Reliance Energy have soared 2% each to Rs 167 and Rs 758, respectively.

Reliance and Bharti Airtel have surged 1.8% each at Rs 1,816 and Rs 877, respectively.

ACC, Tata Motors, Cipla and Dr.Reddy's have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 995, Rs 659, Rs 187 and Rs 635, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Wipro, HDFC and Ambuja Cements are up over 1% each.

ITC has shed 2.5% to Rs 168. ICICI Bank has dropped 1.4% to Rs 875.

Out of 2,668 stocks traded so far, 1,803 have advanced, 814 have declined and 51 are unchanged.
