Sensex up 88pts; Ranbaxy soars 7%

The Sensex is now up 88 points at 15,896.

The NSE Nifty is up 33 points at 4,811.

Ranbaxy has zoomed over 7% to Rs 475.

Infosys has soared 5.6% to Rs 1,503. TCS has surged nearly 5% to Rs 952. Wipro has rallied 4% to Rs 423, and Satyam has gained 3% at Rs 446.

Reliance Communications has moved up 2.6% to Rs 506, and DLF has added 2.3% to Rs 612.

Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever are up around 1.5% each at Rs 817 and Rs 239, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.7% at Rs 2,318. HDFC Bank has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,298.

ACC is down 1.3% at Rs 802.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,425 stocks traded, 1,409 have advanced, 964 have declined and 52 are unchanged.
