Sensex up 893pts; breadth neutral

The Sensex is now up 893 points at 18,115.

ICICI Bank has zoomed 10.5% to Rs 1,251. Reliance Energy and HDFC Bank have soared 10% each to Rs 1,998 and Rs 1,655, respectively.

Ranbaxy has surged over 8% to Rs 375. ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have rallied 6.7% each to Rs 1,008, Rs 3,777 and Rs 705, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 6% to Rs 663. Hindalco, NTPC and ITC have gained 5.5% each at Rs 160, Rs 215 and Rs 199, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Cipla and DLF have moved up 4.5% each to Rs 2,207, Rs 183 and Rs 932, respectively.

HDFC and Reliance Communications are up 4% each at Rs 2,720 and Rs 650, respectively.

Out of 2,664 stocks traded so far, 1,392 have declined, 1,249 have advanced and 23 are unchanged.
