Sensex up 89pts

The market-mood remains firm as most of the stocks continue to trade with sharp gains following sustained buying support. The Sensex, as a result, has gained 89 points to 6,776, and the Nifty has surged 33 points to 2,126.

ONGC continues to trade on a firm note and has logged 3.68% gains (Rs 31) to Rs 888. Reliance is trading higher by 1.79% (Rs 10) at Rs 559.

While HLL is up 2.39% (Rs 3) at Rs 150, ITC has shed some gains to Rs 1,344 - up Rs 4.

SBI is up 1.39% (Rs 10) at Rs 716. While ICICI Bank has gained 1.69% (Rs 7) to Rs 396, HDFC Bank is still trading on a flat note at Rs 577.

Bajaj (up Rs 36 or 3.43% to Rs 1,080), Hero Honda (up Rs 10 or 1.75% to Rs 560), Maruti (up Rs 8 or 471) and Tata Motors (up Rs 12 or 2.66% to Rs 476) have logged significant gains.

Ranbaxy is up 1.54% (Rs 15) at Rs 1,016. Cipla has gained 3.41% (Rs 9) to Rs 267, while Dr. Reddy's is marginally down at Rs 722.

Wipro has gained 2.39% (Rs 16) to Rs 687. While Infosys is trading with a steady gain of Rs 8 at Rs 2,191, Satyam is up a notch at Rs 397.

BHEL and Reliance Energy are up a per cent each at Rs 853 and Rs 557, respectively. Tata Power has added 1.42% (Rs 6) to Rs 403. L&T, however, is subdued with a per cent loss (Rs 6) at Rs 1,107.
