Sensex up 89pts; HDFC advances 3%

The Sensex is now up 89 points at 12,448.

Reliance has soared 5% to Rs 1,155. ONGC is up over 1% at Rs 1,381.

HDFC has advanced 2.7% to Rs 1,321. Hero Honda has gained 1.7% at Rs 1,380, and Gujarat Ambuja is up 1% at Rs 119.

Satyam and TCS have moved up 1% each at Rs 782 and Rs 2,021, respectively.

HLL and NTPC have dropped 1.3% each to Rs 281 and Rs 131, respectively. HDFC Bank is down 1% at Rs 869.

Out of 2,600 stocks traded so far, 1,691 have advanced, 855 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
