Sensex up 89pts; REL, HDFC Bank gain

The Sensex is now up 89 points at 14,145.

Tata Steel has surged over 3% to Rs 482. HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 1,090 and Rs 537, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja and ACC have advanced 2% each to Rs 144 and Rs 1,090, respectively. TCS has moved up 1.8% to Rs 1,349.

Larsen & Toubro, Ranbaxy and Bajaj Auto have gained around 1.5% each to Rs 1,492, Rs 428 and Rs 2,810, respectively.

Reliance, Hindalco and Satyam are up over 1% each at Rs 1,357, Rs 173 and Rs 502, respectively.

Out of 2,625 stocks traded so far, 1,827 have advanced, 749 have declined and 49 are unchanged.
