Sensex up 90pts; RCL down 5%

The Sensex touched a high of 10,224, but has now pared some gains and is 90 points at 10,132.

The market breadth continues to remain weak - out of 2,328 stocks traded so far, 1,658 have declined, 615 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.

ITC has surged 5% to Rs 174, and HLL has gained 2% at Rs 219. HDFC has soared over 4% to Rs 1,090.

Tata Steel has rallied over 3% to Rs 511. Wipro has added 2.3% to Rs 474.

Infosys and Reliance are up 1.7% each at Rs 2,944 and Rs 997, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, ICICI Bank and ACC have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 1,290, Rs 498 and Rs 756, respectively.

RCL has dropped 5% to Rs 229. Reliance Energy has slipped 3% to Rs 433.

BHEL has shed 2% to Rs 1,800. Cipla, HDFC Bank and Maruti are down over 1.5% each at Rs 214, Rs 748 and Rs 725, respectively.
