Sensex up 913pts; Infosys, ICICI zoom 10%

The Sensex is now up 913 points at 16,202.

The NSE Nifty is up 256 points at 4,866.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has zoomed 12% to Rs 224.

Reliance Energy, DLF, Infosys and ICICI Bank have soared 10% each to Rs 1,268, Rs 658, Rs 1,497 and Rs 884, respectively.

Wipro and TCS have surged 8.3% each to Rs 432 and Rs 892, respectively. HDFC has rallied 7.8% to Rs 2,570.

Satyam has gained 7.5% at Rs 420. Hindalco and SBI have moved up 6.3% each to Rs 163 and Rs 1,745, respectively.

Tata Steel and ONGC have advanced 6% each to Rs 628 and Rs 1,062, respectively. BHEL and Reliance Communications have added 5.8% each to Rs 1,980 and Rs 538, respectively.

Reliance is up over 5% at Rs 2,314.

Out of 2,685 stocks traded so far, 1,990 have advanced, 653 have declined and 42 are unchanged.
