Sensex up 919pts; Bharti zooms 9%

The Sensex is now up 919 points at 18,533.

BHEL has zoomed 11.5% to Rs 2,295. Reliance Energy has soared 10.5% to Rs 1,515.

Bharti Airtel has surged nearly 9% to Rs 1,010. Reliance and HDFC Bank have gained 8% each at Rs 2,608 and Rs 1,480, respectively.

NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 7.5% each to Rs 215 and Rs 3,332, respectively.

Cipla and SBI have moved up 6.5% each to Rs 192 and Rs 1,822, respectively. Tata Steel has added 6% to Rs 887.

TCS has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,063.

Out of 2,785 stocks traded so far, 2,095 have advanced, 623 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
