Sensex up 91pts; Bharti slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 91points at 17,242.

Tata Steel has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 857. Reliance Energy has soared 6.5% to Rs 1,189.

Hindalco has surged 5% to Rs 172. Grasim has rallied 3.4% to Rs 3,543, and ITC has advanced 2.8% to Rs 190.

SBI has added 2.5% to Rs 1,934. Cipla, Ranbaxy, Maruti and ICICI Bank are up over 2% each at Rs 180, Rs 430, Rs 997 and Rs 1,050, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has slipped 1.7% to Rs 944. Reliance and Mahindra & Mahindra are down around 1.5% each to Rs 2,284 and Rs 742, respectively.

Out of 2,787 stocks traded so far, 1,446 have declined, 1,276 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
