Sensex up 91pts; NTPC, BHEL lead

The Sensex is now up 91 points at 19,219.

NTPC and BHEL have surged over 2% each to Rs 240 and Rs 2,730, respectively.

ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have rallied 1.7% each to Rs 1,153 and Rs 1,659, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has gained 1.3% at Rs 4,225.

Reliance Energy, Ranbaxy, Maruti and Bajaj Auto are up 1% each at Rs 1,775, Rs 399, Rs 948 and Rs 2,680, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,196 stocks traded so far, 1,502 have advanced, 641 have declined and 53 are unchanged.
