Sensex up 93pts; HDFC sheds 3%

The Sensex is now up 93 points, at 14,757.

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has surged nearly 3% to Rs 195. SBI and Cipla have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 1,573 and Rs 146, respectively.

Grasim, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel have moved up 2% each to Rs 2,670, Rs 2,280 and Rs 605, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications and Maruti have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 966, Rs 538 and Rs 783, respectively.

ITC and Tata Motors are up over 1% each.

HDFC has shed 2.8% to Rs 1,974.

Out of 2,625 stocks traded so far, 1,480 have advanced, 1,072 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
