Sensex up 94pts; HDFC, BHEL up 2%

The Sensex is now up 94 points at 12,454.

Reliance has surged nearly 4% to Rs 1,142, and ONGC has added 1.4% to Rs 1,384.

HDFC has rallied 2.3% to Rs 1,316, and BHEL has gained 2% at Rs 2,443.

HLL and NTPC are down 1% each at Rs 282 and Rs 131, respectively.

Out of 2,521 stocks traded so far, 1,635 have advanced, 835 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

BSEL Infrastructure and GTN Industries have hit the 20% upper limit at Rs 85 and Rs 66.85, respectively. Balmer Lawrie, Crew BOS, Malwa Cotton, Goetze, Premier, Adani Exports, Nirma and Hinduja TMT are the other major gainers.

J L Morison has plunged 10% to Rs 364. GMR Industries, Dalmia Cement, Supreme Petro, Plethico Pharma, Standard Industries, Shyam Tele, Finolex Industries, Vijaya Bank, National Fertilisers and Container Corporation are the other prominent losers.
