Sensex up 96pts; Hindalco, Bharti shine

The Sensex is now up 96 points at 11,608.

Reliance Communications has surged nearly 4% to Rs 301.

Hindalco and Bharti Airtel have surged around 2.5% each to Rs 166 and Rs 420, respectively. Hero Honda has advanced 2% to Rs 710.

Tata Steel, ONGC and Maruti have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 516, Rs 1,207 and Rs 852, respectively.

Wipro, Reliance and Gujarat Ambuja are up over 1% each at Rs 517, Rs 1,080 and Rs 112, respectively.

Out of 2,331 stocks traded so far, 1,450 have advanced, 805 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
