Sensex up 96pts, Wipro logs huge volume

The Sensex is now up 96 points at 10,949.

Infosys has surged nearly 3% to Rs 3,052. Wipro, TCS and Satyam have rallied over 2% each to Rs 481, Rs 1,882 and Rs 720, respectively.

Reliance and Larsen & Toubro have added 1.8% each to Rs 974 and Rs 2,487, respectively.

Out of 2,278 stocks traded so far, 1,298 have advanced, 918 have declined and 62 are unchanged.

Wipro tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 107.83 crore followed by Sun Pharma (Rs 72.40 crore), Reliance (Rs 66.66 crore), Mahindra & Mahindra (Rs 65.10 crore) and Tata Steel (Rs 34.97 crore).

G V Films leads the volume chart with trades of around 43 lakh shares followed by Wipro (22.76 lakh), J K Synthetics (19.53 lakh), Dewan Housing (18.70 lakh) and Prakash Industries (15.28 lakh).
