Sensex up 97pts; St Bk of Mysore zooms 17%

The Sensex touched a new all-time peak of 11,053, and is now up 97 points at 11,047.

Tata Steel has surged 4% to Rs 513. Hindalco is up almost 3% at Rs 175.

Tata Power and HLL have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 605 and Rs 262, respectively. Cipla has added 2.3% to Rs 641.

Gujarat Ambuja has spurted nearly 2% to Rs 98.30. Reliance Energy
has advanced 1.7% to Rs 619.

ACC and NTPC are up over 1% each to Rs 771 and Rs 137, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has declined 1% to Rs 1,418.

The market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 2,227 stocks traded so far, 1,416 have advanced, 750 have declined and 61 are unchanged.

State Bank of Mysore hit the 20% upper limit in early trades and is now up over 17% at Rs 7,695. Mahindra Gesco, Ind-Swift Labs, HFCL, Sun Iron Steel, Aarti Drugs, Kalpatru Power, UCO Bank, Canara Bank, Century Textiles and IndusInd Bank are the other major gainers.

Sesha Paper has plunged over 8% to Rs 123. Asha Minechem, Lanxess ABS, Nectar Life, India Infoline, Ruchi Soya, Saksoft, Blue Star and Ingersoll Rand are in declining mode.
