Sensex up 99pts; Reliance surges 5%

The Sensex is now up 99 points at 19,500.

Reliance has surged nearly 5% to Rs 2,785. BHEL has soared 4.6% to Rs 2,850.

Larsen & Toubro and Maruti have rallied over 3% each to Rs 4,258 and Rs 1,004, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 2.5% at Rs 760. Ambuja Cements and Cipla have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 147 and Rs 181, respectively.

SBI has advanced 1.6% to Rs 2,245. ACC and NTPC are up 1.3% each at Rs 1,035 and Rs 243, respectively.

Infosys has slumped 5.5% to Rs 1,748. Satyam has plunged 3.5% to Rs 437, and Wipro has dropped 2.5% to Rs 475.

HDFC Bank has shed 3.3% at Rs 1,649. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 901 and Rs 1,218, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Dr.Reddy's are down around 1.5% each at Rs 734 and Rs 605, respectively.

Out of 2,670 stocks traded so far, 1,492 have declined, 1,088 have advanced and 90 are unchanged.
