Sensex up around 200pts; Sun Pharma slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 185 points at 9,651.

The Sensex is now up 211 points at 9,677.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has soared 6% to Rs 318. BHEL and Tata Steel have surged over 5% each to Rs 1,487 and Rs 195, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Infrastructure and SBI have rallied around 4% each to Rs 76, Rs 572 and Rs 1,204, respectively.

Reliance Communications and ACC have moved up 3.7% each to Rs 179 and Rs 569, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Reliance have gained 3.5% each at Rs 436 and Rs 1,397, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Maruti are up around 3% each at Rs 703 and Rs 631, respectively.

 

Sun Pharma, however, has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 1,085.

The market breadth is significantly positive - out of 2,419 stocks traded so far, 1,526 have advanced, 796 have declined and 97 are unchanged.
