Sensex up over 100pts; Bharti Airtel slips 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 25 points at 4,117.

Cipla has surged 3.3% to Rs 222, and Ranbaxy has moved up 3% to Rs 450.

Hindustan Unilever, SBI and HDFC Bank have gained 2.5% each at Rs 225, Rs 1,333 and Rs 1,060, respectively.

NTPC and Reliance Communications have advanced 2.3% each to Rs 177 and Rs 445, respectively.

ICICI Bank has rallied over 2% to Rs 631, and Mahindra & Mahindra has added 1.8% to Rs 530.

Satyam has tumbled nearly 4% to Rs 368. Ambuja Cements and Bharti Airtel have dropped around 3% each to Rs 80 and Rs 777, respectively.

 

Larsen & Toubro, DLF and BHEL have shed 2% each at Rs 2,495, Rs 448 and Rs 1,502, respectively.

HDFC has slipped 1.5% to Rs 2,035, and Hindalco is down 1% at Rs 141.

Out of 2,467 stocks traded so far, 1,386 have declined, 1,001 have advanced and 80 are unchanged.
