The Sensex opened 77 points higher at 9,226, and is now up 110 points at 9,259.
Sterlite has surged 3% to Rs 276. Reliance Infrastructure has rallied 2.5% to Rs 536, and Jaiprakash Associates has added 2.3% to Rs 68.
Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have gained 2% each at Rs 174 and Rs 400, respectively.
ONGC has moved up 1.8% to Rs 662.
DLF, however, has slumped 6% to Rs 125.
