Sensex up over 100pts; L&T gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 119 points at 10,862. Earlier in the day, the index opened with a positive gap of 134 points at 10,876, touched a high of 10,932, and soon tumbled into red to a low of 10,656 - down 276 points from the day's high.

Jaiprakash Associates has soared nearly 5% to Rs 111. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has surged 4% to Rs 839.

Reliance Infrastructure has rallied 3.7% to Rs 641. Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have rallied over 3% each to Rs 230 and Rs 683, respectively.

ICICI Bank has moved up nearly 3% to Rs 387. Sterlite, DLF and Tata Steel have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 393, Rs 217 and Rs 248, respectively.

 

Hindustan Unilever have slumped over 3% to Rs 233. ONGC and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped around 2% each to Rs 890 and Rs 440, respectively.

Wipro has shed 1.6% at Rs 278.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,345 stocks traded, 1,659 have advanced, 598 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
