The Sensex opened 70 points higher at 9,639, and is now up 112 points at 9,681.
Satyam has soared 5.7% to Rs 143. Jaiprakash Associates has surged 3.3% to Rs 79.
Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 595 and Rs 213, respectively.
HDFC Bank and HDFC have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 1,011 and Rs 1,498, respectively.
Reliance and Sterlite are up over 2% each to Rs 1,269 and Rs 262, respectively.
