Sensex up over 400pts; ITC slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 426 points at 10,391.

Sterlite has zoomed 14.5% to Rs 282, and Tata Steel has soared over 12% to Rs 213.

Reliance Infrastructure has surged 8.3% to Rs 608. BHEL, ONGC and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied around 7.5% each to Rs 1,513, Rs 797 and Rs 94, respectively.

ICICI Bank has rallied 7% to Rs 461. Reliance and Larsen & Toubro have moved up around 6% each to Rs 1,291 and Rs 921, respectively.

Tata Power and Bharti Airtel have advanced 5.5% each to Rs 778 and Rs 686, respectively. Satyam has added nearly 5% to Rs 291.

 

Hindalco and NTPC are up 4.5% each to Rs 63 and Rs 158, respectively.

ITC has slipped 2.3% to Rs 171.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,482 stocks traded so far, 1,653 have advanced, 769 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
