The Sensex touched a high of 13,807 in opening trades, and is now up 417 points at 13,733.
HDFC has zoomed nearly 6% to Rs 2,257. TCS, Wipro and Satyam have rallied 5.5% each to Rs 759, Rs 419 and Rs 353, respectively.
HDFC Bank, DLF, ONGC and Bharti Airtel have soared 4% each to Rs 1,272, Rs 412, Rs 1,039 and Rs 791, respectively.
Infosys and BHEL have gained 3.5% each at Rs 1,577 and Rs 1,665, respectively.
Grasim, Reliance Communicaitons and ITC have advanced around 3% each to Rs 1,941, Rs 366 and Rs 191, respectively.
