Sensex volatile in early deals;Hindalco up 4%

The Sensex is exhibiting some volatility in early trades and is now down 10 points at 17,816.

The NSE Nifty is down four points at 5,264.

Hindalco has soared nearly 4% to Rs 204. Hindustan Unilever has surged 1.5% to Rs 223.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have gained 1.3% each at Rs 667 and Rs 2,924, respectively.

HDFC and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 2,715 and Rs 1,468, respectively.

BHEL and Infosys have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 2,234 and Rs 1,597, respectively.
