Sensex volatile in early trades

The Sensex opened marginally higher at 11,565, and spurted to a high of 11,590. The index then slipped into the negative zone and touched a low of 11,502.

The Sensex has now rebounded into the positive zone and is now up four points at 11,555.

Reliance Communications has surged 2% to Rs 320.

Maruti, Satyam and Reliance have advanced 1% each to Rs 927, Rs 784 and Rs 1,098, respectively.

Hindalco has dropped 2% to Rs 171. NTPC has slipped 1% to Rs 120.
