Sensex volatile in early trades; HUL slips 2%

The Sensex is exhibiting volatile movement in early trades. After opening 30 points higher at 20,903, the index touched a high of 20,908, and then slipped into red to a low of 20,804. The index is now down 21 points at 20,852.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 2% at Rs 230.

ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have slipped 1% each to Rs 1,318, Rs 766 and Rs 964, respectively.

ONGC, BHEL and DLF are also down 1% each at Rs 1,309, Rs 2,470 and Rs 1,140, respectively.

NTPC and ITC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 268 and Rs 233, respectively.
