Sensex volatile in early trades; L&T goes ex-bonus

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 20 points at 12,387. The index touched a high of 12,418, and then slipped into red to touch a low of 12,349.

The index has rebounded into positive zone and is now up 11 points at 12,378.

Larsen & Toubro is gone ex-bonus and now trades at Rs 1,292.

Cipla, HDFC Bank and Wipro are the prominent gainers.
