Sensex volatile in early trades; REL up 4%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 43 points at 19,827, touched a high of 19,908, and then slipped into red to a low of 19,735. The index has rebouned into the positive zone and is now up 15 points at 19,799.

Reliance Energy has soared nearly 4% to Rs 1,859.

Bharti Airtel has surged 2.3% to Rs 1,023. Tata Motors has rallied 2% to Rs 782.

ONGC and Reliance Communications have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,241 and Rs 780, respectively.

Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,105 and Rs 751, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 2% at Rs 191. Wipro has slipped 1% to Rs 505.
