Sensex volatile, up 70pts; Infosys down 6%

The Sensex continues to exhibit volatile movement. The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 70 points at 19,471.

Infosys has slumped 5.7% to Rs 1,746. Satyam has plunged 3.5% to Rs 437.

HDFC Bank and Wipro have tumbled over 3% each to Rs 1,649 and Rs 472, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Dr.Reddy's have dropped around 2% each to Rs 899 and Rs 602, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications and Hindustan Unilever have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 1,219, Rs 733 and Rs 193, respectively.

Grasim is down 1.4% at Rs 3,601.

BHEL has soared 4.7% to Rs 2,852.

Reliance and Larsen & Toubro have surged 3.3% each to Rs 2,744 and Rs 4,265, respectively.

Maruti has rallied 2.5% to Rs 998, and Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 2% to Rs 755.

SBI and Ambuja Cements have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 2,246 and Rs 146, respectively.

Tata Motors and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 731 and Rs 868, respectively.

Out of 2,640 stocks traded so far, 1,561 have declined, 996 have advanced and 83 are unchanged.
