The Sensex opened in the red at 17,167 tracking subdued global cues. The index touched a low of 17,083 and is now at 17,106, down 59 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,117, down 19 points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, ICICI Bank and Infosys have declined 1% each to Rs 924 and Rs 2,642, respectively.
The other major losers are SBI, Reliance Infrastrcuture, Hindalco, Maruti and ACC, down 0.5% each.
Scrips like Reliance Communication, NTPC, Wipro and ITC have added 0.5% each on the BSE.
