Sensex zooms 160pts; Saregama soars 20%

The Sensex touched a high of 9399, and is now up 160 points at 9398.

Wipro is up 4.3% at Rs 481.

Hindalco has surged 4% to Rs 158. BHEL, too, is up nearly 4% at Rs 1,522.

Bharti Tele has rallied 3.6% to Rs 342.

Reliance Energy has soared nearly 3% to Rs 617.

HDFC, Tata Motors, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, Satyam, Hero Honda and Maruti have gained over 2% each.

Infosys, ITC, TCS, SBI, ICICI Bank, Reliance and Tata Power are also holding solid gains.

HDFC Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 725, and Ranbaxy is down nearly 1% to Rs 381.

Out of 2,506 stocks traded so far, 1,928 have advanced, 525 have declined and the rest are unmoved.

Saregama has hit the 20% upper limit of Rs 324. Rana Sugars, Dwarikesh Sugars, Indo Rama Textiles, SAIL, India Cement, Merck, D-Link, BEML, Balaji Tele, Asahi India, RCF and Hindustan Zinc have posted significant gains.

IPCA Labs has declined over 3% to Rs 395. HCL Infosys, Nicholas Piramal, Micro Inks, Nandan Exim, Samtel Colour, Videocon Industries, Panacea Biotech and Trent are down 1-2% each.
