Sensex zooms 92pts; Hindalco surges 4%

The Sensex zoomed to a new all-time intra-day high of 11,048, and is now up 92 points at 11,042.

Hindalco has surged nearly 4% to Rs 176. Tata Steel has added 3.2% to Rs 509.

Cipla and Gujarat Ambuja have gained 2.6% each at Rs 643 and Rs 99, respectively. HLL has rallied over 2% to Rs 261.

Ranbaxy (Rs 409) and NTPC (Rs 137) are up 1.5% each.

Dr.Reddy's has dropped nearly 1% to Rs 1,419.

The market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 1,911 stocks traded so far, 1,281 have advanced, 580 have declined and 50 are unchanged.
