Sensex zooms 97pts, Ranbaxy up 2%

The Sensex has advanced 97points at 11,280.

Ranbaxy has moved up over 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 421. Tata Steel is now up over 2% (Rs 11) at Rs 533.

ONGC is up 1.7% (Rs 22) at Rs 1,312. Reliance is still up Rs 7 at Rs 801.

Wipro has gained 1.9% (Rs 11) to Rs 553. While Infosys is now up Rs 22 at Rs 3,060, TCS is up Rs 14 at Rs 1,913.

Bharti, Hindalco, ITC, Gujarat Ambuja, Hero Honda and Maruti are also trading with gains.

Advances are way, way ahead of declines - out of 1,557 scrips traded till now, 1,217 have moved up and 306 have declined.

The BSE Metal Index has gained 1.9% (161 points) to 8724. All the other sectoral indices are also in positive zones.
