Sensex zooms past 7,750, Reliance leads upsurge

The market continues to register strong gains in mid-noon trades as steep rally in Reliance, tech and select auto stocks have propeled the index to a new intra-day high of 7,754.

The Sensex is now up 71 points at 7,740, while the Nifty is steady at 2,344 - up 26 points.

Reliance has soared 4.36% (Rs 31) to Rs 739. While Reliance Energy has gained 2.43% (Rs 15) to Rs 645, ONGC is trading with a per cent gain (Rs 6) at Rs 953. HLL is still trading lower at Rs 170 - down Rs 4 or 2.27%.

TCS has shot up 3.39% (Rs 42) to Rs 1,295. While Infosys has moved up 1.20% (Rs 27) to Rs 2,289, Satyam is steady at Rs 524 - up Rs 9 or 1.77%.

SBI is unchanged with a per cent gain (Rs 8) at Rs 797. ICICI Bank has shed 1.68% (Rs 9) to Rs 524, while HDFC Bank down at Rs 669, too, is exhibiting weak trends.

Hindalco has added 1.68% (Rs 21) to Rs 1,286, while Tisco is up 2.69% (Rs 10) at Rs 374.

Tata Motors has zoomed 4.92% (Rs 25) to Rs 525, while Maruti is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 498.
