The third phase of the Indo-Japan bivoltine sericulture development project is being launched in three southern states to enhance the production and quality of silk, and raising the income of small silk producers and reelers.
The states are Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, which together account for nearly 90 per cent of the country
