Kolkata Port promises lowest cost crude import option

To prevent loss of petroleum cargo including crude and products, Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) said it would offer a package to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) under which cost of transporting crude from ship to shore would be lower than that by a pipeline connecting Haldia to Paradip.

The economics of supply of crude and petroleum products, and viability of the existing Haldia and Barauni refineries, would depend on the cost structure of the selected supply option
