Short Order Plunges Jute Industry Into Crisis

The jute industry is heading for a grave crisis with the procuring institutions, mainly government agencies, not placing orders. If the situation does not improve within a fortnight, the lack of sales will force at least half of the jute mills to stop operations.

If that happens, West Bengal will be the worst hit as 80 per cent of the country
