Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices fell by 0.16% to Rs 52,755 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September fell by Rs 87, or 0.16%, to Rs 52,755 per kg in business turnover of 4,382 lots.
The December contract shed Rs 90, or 0.16%, to Rs 54,462 per kg in 143 lots.
Market analysts attributed to the fall in silver futures to weak trend in overseas markets.
Meanwhile, silver fell 0.8% to $27.09 an ounce in Singapore.
