Silver down 0.5% on lower global trend

Metal fell by 0.6% to $19.86 an ounce in Singapore

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.56% to Rs 42,985 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved down by Rs 756, or 0.56%, to Rs 42,985 per kg in a business turnover of 394 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 221, or 0.50%, to Rs 43,784 per kg in 15 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend as an improving US economy weighed against Ukraine and that put pressure on the silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.60% to $19.86 an ounce in Singapore.
