Silver prices fell by Rs 91 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 29,180 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators booked profits in the absence of any worthwhile buying factors.

Marketmen said direction-less traders offloaded their holdings in futures market in the absence of any report from the New York markets, which normally set the price trend in domestic markets here.

The US markets were closed today on account of a national holiday.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the silver for July contract fell by Rs 91, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 29,180 per kg, and recorded a business volume of 12,342 lots.
