Silver futures down 0.3% on global cues

Prices fell as speculators trimmed their positions

Silver futures for May traded by Rs 181, or 0.33%, to Rs 54,031 per kg in 1,586 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the July contract declined by Rs 177, or 0.32%, to Rs 55,203 per kg in 111 lots.

Prices fell as speculators trimmed their positions.

In Singapore, silver traded lower at $28.81 an ounce.

Subdued trend in precious metals in the global markets were triggered as Cyprus's bailout plan that hurt demand for the safe haven, led to fall in silver futures trade here.
