Silver futures down 0.3% on profit-booking, global cues

Weak trend in Asian region, profit booking by participants led to fall in silver prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell 0.34% to Rs 49,783 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid a weak trend in the global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 169 or 0.34%, to Rs 49.783 per kg in business turnover of 723 lots.

Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in March next year declined by Rs 143 or 0.28% to Rs 50.969 per kg in business volume of four lots.

In the international market, silver prices traded 0.72% lower at $22.13 an ounce in Singapore.

Market analysts said apart from the profit-booking by participants, a weak trend in the Asian region led to the fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
