Silver prices fell by Rs 236 to Rs 64,130 per kg in futures trade today as speculators gained at existing record levels amid a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July dropped by Rs 236, or 0.37% to Rs 64,130 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Likewise, for delivery in May the white metal traded Rs 234, or 0.37% lower at Rs 63260 per kg in an open interest of two lots.
Analysts said that besides profit-booking by speculators at existing record level, weak trend at global market weighed down the silver futures prices here.
Meanwhile, silver lost 1.2% at $42.88 an ounce after rallying to $43.52 an ounce yesterday, the highest since 1980.
